Backend Engineering Course

Backend Climb is a free, open-source curriculum I co-designed with Anton Bossenbroek for engineers interested in levelling up their fundamental understanding of how computers work.

The curriculum focuses on hands-on projects using Rust and Elixir. The goal is to encourage engineers not to just know how something works, but why it works that way.

The course covers operating systems, networking, data structures, concurrency, architectural patterns, and deployment. Each module includes practical projects to solidify understanding.

Course Structure

Module 1: Core Systems & Infrastructure Fundamentals

Module 2: Advanced Programming Mastery (Rust & Elixir)

Module 3: Architecture & Full-Stack Integration

The material is designed to be approachable for individuals with diverse programming experiences. The best engineers are those who know how to think clearly about complex systems.
